Why would I need network monitoring, don't you guys look after my servers anyway?

If you're a client of Servicad then yes we look after your servers but depending on the type of service agreement you have with us we may not be monitoring your servers. Without monitoring in place we're basically waiting for something to happen to your servers and then we'll fix them. With network monitoring in place issues of possible problems will be sent to us and we can fix the issues before they become major problems or cause down time. Network monitoring is like having a technician reviewing your servers 24/7 and will alert our support team if an issue comes up or if the servers are not responding.

I have 3 servers do I have to pay the same price for each server? Also do I have to have the network monitoring on all my servers?

If you have multiple servers then the price is not the same for all the servers. The first initial server will cost $99/mo (plus tax) and any other servers on top of that will be charged at $39/server/mo (plus tax). Do you need all of your servers to have network monitoring……no. We say as a bare minimum any servers that have active directory or any sensitive material that needs to be up and running smoothly.

What's the advantage of having the Patch Management applied to my servers?

With this option patches and updates are automated with scheduled nightly provisioning and reboots as well c/w blacklisted/whitelisted patch analysis applied to your server, meaning only time tested approved patches are applied and the one blacklisted which have shown historical reports and evidence of causing issues are blacklisted, hence not applied to your server until further status change . The whole advantage of this is to make sure your servers are up to date and running smoothly with the latest patches and updates.

What do I get for that price?

Peace and mind that someone is looking at your servers and looking out for your best interest 24/7. You will also receive monthly reports on your server activity and progress (click here to view a sample report). If your server goes down we will be notified immediately and then can begin the proper steps in resolving the issues. If you have the patch management option then that will give you the latest patches and updates for your server. This would normally take a technician 2 to 3 hours a month to do manually which will cost around $200. Also included is free consulting of your servers. We'll let you know what's needed to improve the performance and longevity of your servers.

Will network monitoring prevent my servers from crashing?

Servers will crash but with network monitoring we can at least prevent certain crashes from happening and it will also let us know if a server has crashed so we can get you back up as soon as possible.
